Hotel-Style Lodges: Meeting & Banquet Facilities
Our five hotel-style lodges are well equipped for meetings and receptions for 150 to 600 people. All have restaurants, catering, meeting services and professional event coordinators who can assist with meetings, reunions, banquets, weddings and other gatherings. Lodges in northern Georgia are found at Amicalola Falls and Unicoi state parks, while lodges in southern Georgia feature golf courses and are found at George T. Bagby and Little Ocmulgee state parks.
A more luxurious group accommodation is available at Reynolds Mansion on Sapelo Island, a plantation home set among the moss-draped oaks and salt marshes of Sapelo Island. The Island has limited access by ferry only, providing complete privacy. All meals are included.

The Hike Inn: Georgia’s Only Eco-Lodge
Small groups with an interest in the outdoors will enjoy the Len Foote Hike Inn at Amicalola Falls State Park. The backcountry eco-lodge is reached only by hiking a five-mile trail through scenic forest, and all meals are included.

Group Camps: Summer Camp Fun
Group camps are reminiscent of going away to summer camp and are perfect for large youth gatherings. While each is unique, they all provide rustic “cabins” with bunk beds, large kitchens, dining/assembly rooms, restrooms with hot showers, activity areas and, usually, swimming facilities. Linens are not provided. Minimum occupancy is two nights, and a deposit is required. Cancellations must be made at least six months in advance. Group camps are found at A.H. Stephens, F.D. Roosevelt, Fort Yargo, Hard Labor Creek, Indian Springs, Kolomoki, Laura S. Walker, and Magnolia Springs state parks.

Group Lodges: Your Own Private Retreat
A group lodge is one large facility with dormitory sleeping quarters for 12 to 50, restrooms with hot showers, and a kitchen and dining area. Guests provide their own linens. Minimum occupancy is two nights, and a deposit is required. Cancellations must be made at least one month in advance and will be assessed a fee. Group lodges are found at Cloudland Canyon, John Tanner, General Coffee and Magnolia Springs state parks.

Pioneer Camping: Roughing It
Organized groups such as Scouts can pitch tents in these private camping areas found at most state parks. All come with water spigots and pit toilets, and some have covered picnic shelters and grills. These primitive campsites will not accommodate RVs or trailers and do not provide showers.

Camping Clubs: RV Roundups
Camping clubs are welcome in state park campgrounds, and one member may make reservations for the entire group. Callers should notify the reservation center that they are with a club, and a guest list should be provided to the park upon check-in. Campsite locations cannot be guaranteed. Regular camping fees and rules apply. Since youth groups may not occupy regular campgrounds, Group Camps and Pioneer Camping areas are provided for these visitors.

Group Shelters: Special Event Facilities
Perfect for family reunions, parties and church picnics, enclosed group shelters have tables and chairs for 50 to 250, kitchens, restrooms, heat and air conditioning, and adjacent parking. Many have large barbecue pits. Shelters must be vacated by 9:45 p.m. Cancellations must be made at least 30 days in advance and will be assessed a fee. All vehicles in the group must display a ParkPass.

Picnic Shelters: We’ve Got You Covered
All state parks except Sprewell Bluff and Sapelo Island have covered picnic tables that may be reserved up to 11 months in advance. These open-air shelters include several tables assembled under a single roof and sometimes a barbecue pit or grills. Parking and restrooms are nearby. Shelters must be vacated by 9:45 p.m. All vehicles in the group must display a ParkPass.

SAM Shortline Excursion Train
This excursion train welcomes birthday parties, family reunions and other groups on its tour through southwest Georgia. The train can also be reserved for private events. Throughout the year, this nostalgic train offers special tours to Savannah, Vidalia and other towns. The main depot is located in Cordele, just west of I-75.
